The Army Medical Specialist Corps Association (AMSCA) was established in 1983 originally to facilitate communication and camaraderie among retired members of the Army Medical Specialist Corps (SP Corps). Over the last 40+ years, AMSCA has expanded its membership to include currently serving and previous members of the SP Corps.

AMSCA consists of Army occupational therapists, physical therapists, dietitians and physician assistants. The SP Corps and each of its specialties have a long history of service and support to the military warfighters.


AMSCA publishes two newsletters and a membership roster each year. Newsletters provide information about matters affecting current, former, and retired SP Corps officers. There are also updates on current SP Corps activities, accomplishments, and news of individual AMSCA members.

AMSCA hosts membership meetings online, twice a year with guest speakers and breakout rooms to connect various groups. We host an in-person conference every two years at different locations around the country. These conferences are fun, as well as excellent opportunities to strengthen the organization, get together with old friends, and make new ones.


AMSCA Goals:

  • Build a thriving community of integrated generations of Army Medical Specialist Corps (SP Corps) officers.
  • Provide education, professional networking, mentoring, and social opportunities for its members.
  • Support the goals of the SP Corps and coordinate with the SP Corps Chief to inform its members and the public
  • Recognize the unique professional, academic, research, lifetime achievements, and community services provided by members.
  • Preserve the history of the SP Corps, and support other organizations involved in the preservation of military medical history.
  • Provide scholarships to individuals to advance clinical research and education.


The Army Medical Specialist Corps Association is a 501(c)19 organization.
