Help Preserve Our Legacy through the Oral History Project
The history of the Army Medical Specialist Corps (AMSC) lives within your stories. To capture these vital narratives, we are partnering with the Library of Congress Veterans History Project (VHP) to collect, preserve, and archive the personal accounts of our corps members for future generations, researchers, and educators.

How the Library of Congress VHP Works
Approved submissions are permanently archived at the Library of Congress. To meet VHP requirements, contributions must fulfill at least one of the 30-20-10 Rule criteria:
· 30 minutes: Minimum length for audio or video-recorded interviews, and/or
· 20 pages: Minimum length for unpublished memoirs, diaries, or journals, and/or
· 10 items: Minimum number of photographs, letters, maps, or 2D artwork.

Get Involved at the 2026 AMSC Conference in Washington DC
Tell your story at our upcoming conference (September 21–23, 2026). Volunteer interviewers will be on-site to conduct sessions.
Prep Ahead: Review some sample interview questions arehere (Oral History Project Sample Questions AMSCA OHP.docx) to help you select the prompts that best tell your story.
Information Sessions: Three Q&A Zoom calls will be held in mid-September to answer any questions before the event.
